Privacy Policy

MotoChecklist is offline-first. The short version: your data stays on your phone, and we don't collect or sell it.

The short version

MotoChecklist has no account and no sign-in. Your bikes, trips, gear lists, custom items, reference-value overrides, and checked-off state are stored only on your device. We don't collect them, we can't see them, and we don't sell data to anyone. This build has no ads, no analytics, and no third-party trackers — and no account to tie any of it to.

What's stored on your device

Everything you create in the app stays local to your phone: your garage, trip sessions, gear lists, your own checklist items, and any reference values you set for your bike. Because there's no account or cloud sync, this data isn't transmitted to us or backed up by us — and uninstalling the app removes it.

What we collect

We (Zugunruhe Labs) do not collect personal information through the app. There is no analytics SDK, no advertising SDK, no crash-reporting service, and no in-app purchases or billing in this build.

Network connections

MotoChecklist works fully offline. The one network connection it can make is to check for over-the-air app updates (via Expo's update service). Like any network request, that contact necessarily involves your device's IP address and basic request metadata, handled by that service to deliver the update. We do not use it to identify or track you.

This website

The home page has one form: a mailing list. If you leave your email address there, we store it with Resend, the service we use to send email, and use it to tell you when MotoChecklist reaches the App Store and Google Play and to send you updates about MotoChecklist and our other motorcycle apps. That address is not stored anywhere else, is not used for anything else, and is not sold or shared. You can opt out at any time: reply to any message we send, or email [email protected], and we remove you. The form is the only place this site asks you for anything, and there is no account and no sign-in.

To tell people from automated signups, the form uses Cloudflare Turnstile. It receives your IP address and information about your browser. It is not used for advertising, and it does not track you across other sites.

To count page views, this site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics. It sets no cookies and gives your browser no persistent identifier, and it does not track you across other sites — though, like any request to a server, it does carry your IP address and basic request metadata. No advertising or data-broker scripts run on any page.

App store data declarations

When MotoChecklist is submitted to the stores, its Apple App Store privacy details and Google Play Data Safety disclosures will be filed to match what's described above. If a future version adds a service that changes these data flows (for example billing or analytics), this policy and those declarations will be updated to match before that version ships.

Full policy before launch

MotoChecklist isn't in the app stores yet. The complete Privacy Policy — covering legal bases for processing, data retention, your rights and how to exercise them, and governing law — will be published here, reviewed by counsel, before the app is available to download.

What's described above about this website is how it handles data today. What's described about the app is how the app is built.
